This should also be found in the manual (I can't recall if Trainz 2012 had a physical one, but there is a digital one in the Trainz Simulator 2012 install folder under /Extras/Documentation/TS12_Manual_US.pdf)Īlso, please remember to register your product on MyTrainz (formerly Planet Auran). Go to the Trains tab on the right and click it (or hit F7).Ĭlick and place your locomotives and rolling stock on the track, This will bring you into "Surveyor" mode. Otherwise "Create Route".įrom there, you have three options: "Create Session", "Edit Session", or "Drive Session". If working from an existing route, "View Sessions". Typically my workflow for adding trains to drive is as follows: However, outside of a few exceptions, I don't use it. Please see here.Īs for quick drive consists or consists in general, new consists can be created in Surveyor by using the "Get Consist" tool on the trains tab. Multiplayer is included in Trainz 2012, but I've never tried it, so I can't help you there.Īs for additional locomotives and rolling stock, I made a post on a previous thread. The only one I have any experience with is Settle and Carlisle. AUD$19.90 and are available from Simulator Central.

They were never included for free in Trainz 2012, but can be purchased separately. Settle and Carlisle, Classic Carbon City, and Murchison 2 are all payware routes from N3V. Do I need to make my own consists? If so, how do I do that?Īny help you can give is really appreciated! Thanks! Most are just rakes of wagons or coaches with nothing to pull them.
When I enter quick drive mode a box appears prompting me to pick a consist, but there's only a handful to choose from and barely any of them have locos attached. Where can I find these trains that I'm missing? Lastly, I can't seem to choose what train I drive in quick drive mode. From what I can tell this game only includes three steam locos which is disapointing whereas people playing on youtube have plenty to choose from. I've watched several videos of people on youtube playing Trainz 12 and they all seem to have trains that I don't have in my game. Should these routes have been included with the game? Am I missing something? Second is the trains in the rail yard. I did find them mentioned in the online shop but I don't seem to have purchased them. On the front of the box the disc came in it says "Now with multiplayer and 3 addons! Settle and Carlisle, Classic Carbon city and Murchison 2." Despite this I can't find the routes available to drive on anywhere. Trainz 12 arrived in the post this morning and I've spent the day playing about with it and there are a couple of things I need help with. Now, I come to you once again for advice. Hey again, some of you may remember the other day that I asked for advice on which version of trainz simulator to get and you were all super helpful.
